Things to do in South Molton include a visit to the ever-popular Quince Honey Farm Devon, where visitors of all ages can discover the fascinating world of bees and the whole honey production process. Quince Honey Farm also has a shop selling gifts and toiletries made from honey grown at the Farm.
Plant lovers can visit the beautiful Castle Hill Gardens, while lovers of history can head to the South Molton Museum which contains a wide variety of exhibits and memorabilia including one of the first working fire engines in Devon. Meanwhile, perhaps the widest appeal of any South Molton attraction is that of the South Molton Chocolate Factory, which offers tours during which visitors can sample the chocolate made there - and who doesn't love chocolate?!
One of the most anticipated annual events in North Devon is the South Molton Vintage Rally which takes place on the first weekend in June. Held at nearby Coombesland Cross, the Rally features displays of some great vintage vehicles as well as events such as the Club Challenge which is not to be missed. Another highlight of South Molton's social calendar is the South Molton Olde English Fayre, which has its roots in the 12th Century and has taken place annually ever since. Attractions at the event include market stalls, children's entertainment and various activities and challenges.
For an overall experience of South Molton, visitors can book a place on the South Molton Heritage Trail to explore the town's history and architecture. The trail, which takes around an hour and a half, winds through the streets of South Molton where you will be given a fascinating insight into how the town was shaped by the events of its history into the tight-knit community that exists today.
