
the main displays Welcome to North Devon and Barnstaple Museum. Through a series of galleries the museum tells the story of North Devon, and its historic centre Barnstaple, from its formation to the present day. The whole family will enjoy a visit here.
activities & experience With our special displays and lighting effects your imagination can take you beneath the ocean or reveal the underwater life of the otter and other indigenous wildlife, and there's enough hands on activities to keep the children and the adults intrigued.
the collections These cover the geology, natural history and archaelogy of all Northern Devon. Later collections focus on the way of life, the art and the manufacturers of the Barnstaple area.
opening times 9.30 am - 5 pm Monday - Saturday. The museum is closed from Christmas Day to New Year's Day inclusive.
access We try to ensure that everyone gets the best out of visiting our museum. If you have particular access requirements please get in touch to let us know how we can help. The ground floor of the museum is wheelchair accessible, the first floor can be reached by stairlift. parking is available at the museum, please call to confirm availability.
